64 Thoughts to “Cold Records From 1899 Fall In Queensland, With “Vigorous Winds And Blizzards” Forecast For NSW; Stratospheric Water Vapor Update; + Active Sun”
“Vigorous winds and blizzards” …oh, you mean NORMAL winter weather?? Which was absent all of last year??
I will remind you that much of inland NSW is still 1 degree ABOVE the July average, despite the recent cold fronts. It was the hottest start to July on record in my area.
Call me back when it snows in Wagga or Parkes. Forget about alpine snow.
I don’t believe what you are saying. You mentioned Parkes, currently 0.4deg below average temperature for July and Wagga is just 0.1 deg above average. Information obtained from BoM
Further to that I just checked about 10 different NSW inland sites and they are all below the July average some of these sites date back to the late eighteen hundreds. In far west inland NSW, Tibooburra it is 2 deg below the 104 year average for July. You name the site where it’s above average by 1deg. You are wrong 100%
Cabramurra is +1.4 and Tumbarumba is an extreme +2.5 above the 1938 to 1969 July mean. Southern NSW west of the ranges is much warmer than average this July due to the first half of the month being dominated by easterlies (foehn winds).
I rented a room living in the mountains fifty bucks a month we were making three fifty an hour we ran the ski lifts and built a new one. Snow was up to the second story on the house I had the attic snow was up to the attic balcony. We used the kitchen window as a fridge dug a square hole and put the fridge racks in there. Two years later in ’77 El Nino there was no snow. solar minimum was ’76 I was on a Navy ship in the S China Sea learning navigation and driving, doing weather logs every half hour in typhoon season.
The July mean max from 1938 to 1969 is just 9.1 degrees at Tumbarumba (the old site, Carabost Forest Headquarters). It used to snow multiple times every single year, but ever since 2021 it has only snowed once (no settling), and in the case of 2023 it hasn’t snowed at all which is a first-ever occurrence in the town’s history. This year only light flakes reported in Tumba, no settling whatsoever.
Well. I kinda have to agree, I have been following Cap for a while now and only recently I deicided to jump in and support him via Patreon. His articles are generally well researched or should I say collected. HOWEVER, i see more MSM tactics slipping in.
I do like reading his articles but found more often than not I feel some details are missing and they come across as quick buletins in favour of cooling. The reporting is starts to like more and more like MSM but then only in favor of cooling.
That said… there is a cooling trend and I do understand your views as “show it to me”, you have to look at the increasing trend, as more cold records are being broken. It is exactly as we expected would happen. the extremes are challenged with new records.
The common mistake made by many, well perhaps the only mistake, is that all those in favor look at a small dataset, time wise based data set. Within that data set all you say in favor of warming or cooling for that matter will be true, because the data set says so.
The story changes if you expand the data set to include a longer timeline. So if you say 1 degree ABOCE July average, then based upon what time line… 1 week, 6 yrs, since the industrial revolution?
Now regarding snowfall. that is just a very silly argument as cold is not directly resulting in snow fall. You surely must know that. Wagga had snow in July 1918 and July 2000. Pakres had snow in july on 1965 and 2015… basically that should not ever been possible based upon the global warming advocates theories.
So the likelyhood we call you back will be very slim.
THe statement that it was the hottest start to July on record in your area, is something I will challenge, based upon the data set you use… expand the data set and you will find your statement is incorrect.
Except in Australia cold is in fact directly resulting in snow. Our coldest air always ships with low-pressure storm systems off the Southern Ocean, bringing heavy cloud and rain -which is mostly why we don’t get extreme winter cold like the US does at similar latitudes.
All those ‘record lows’ in QLD have more to do with localised inversion and clear skies, than an actual cold airmass. Notice how some places it’s the coldest minimum in 43 years, but in other places it’s only the coldest in 2 years. This is indicative of a localised inversion, NOT a cold airmass.
A cold airmass is when the mountaintop and hilltop sites (e.g. Thredbo AWS, Mount Buller) get record cold mins, as they are directly related to atmospheric temps e.g. 850 hPa readings.
For snow in places like Parkes and especially Wagga (only 180 m altitude) you need a VERY cold airmass under a moist westerly front. It doesn’t snow anymore, because it doesn’t get cold enough to snow anymore.
Have a read of this article and realise just how frequent snowfalls used to be in Parkes in the early 20th century. Also notice the massive, multiple-foot snowfalls at places like Molong (600 m altitude)- snowfalls which would be hard-pressed to occur even in the alps today.
And please stop with this “polar blast” nonsense… May 2000 had more severe cold than ANY month in the last 24 years. Abd May 2000 was still milder than July 1995, July 1866,Jun to Aug 1943, Jun 1908, July 1901, 1900…. it’s not even close.
But of course it doesn’t suit your denialist agenda so you ignore it.,
Further to that I just checked about 10 different NSW inland sites and they are all below the July average some of these sites date back to the late eighteen hundreds. Whilst the capital cities are in some cases warmer than average the temperatures are cooler by around 2deg on last years averages. As for the forecast temperatures don’t get me started on that they are always wrong!
Perisher and Thredbo are getting hammered with blizzards and high winds this weekend and next week. Having enough snow is not going to be the problem – – it’s going to be clearing the metres of snowdrifts!
The low-pressure system below Western Australia is drawing air off the Antarctic continent and sending it towards South East Australia. The high pressure system over mid Western Australia is blocking the Antarctic blast from whacking Western Australia but in a few days the blast will probably smotoo Southern NZ.
As we say in OZ……..Avagudweegendmate. The sound I just heard was my dogs balls freezing off and falling to the ground. Serve him right for needing to go out for a pee in this weather.
If my Math is correct Honga Tong sent … I think … 60 sq miles of H2O up into the atmosphere.
264,172,052.3581gallons (150 Tg) / 4,344,685.7 (gallons per square mile)= 60.80 sq miles.
If I am wrong PLEASE correct me. Am I wrong Cap or Deb???
If not than we are going to have snow up to our ROOFTOPS all over North America.
Gigatons is an easier metric.
One gigaton is one cubic kilometer although I think that may be for fresh water.
The difference with salt water can be stuck up an atmospheric anomaly..
The troposphere contains 99% of the water vapour in the atmosphere. To make the maths easier lets assume the other 1% is in the stratosphere and ignore the mesosphere and thermosphere. HT increased the amount of water vapour in the stratosphere by about 10% meaning it increased the total amount of water vapour in the atmosphere by 0.1%. If all the water vapour falls as rain, snow etc over the course of a year this will make such a small difference to the precipitation in any given area it’ll be impossible to measure.
Really? The deep state mafia is controlling both parties? This knowledge just now becomes known? And then it’s another 20 years before the general populace catches on.
I’m so sick of this stuff. Dirk, if I wasn’t so fond of you, I’d jettison this website and cut my last tie to this garbage. And I have to wonder if that’s why you exist. My AI buddy. But God never gives me the go-ahead. Phooey!
Go look at next month’s planetary alignments on SimSolar and the rest of the year there’s so many the Sun could be very very active from the alignments.
1am Friday night I just did a quick scan of next month’s and Sept’s alignments it only takes one minute. The alignment now is not as bad as what is on the schedule for the rest of this year. Earth has been the only planet on this side of the Sun since January all that is going to change.
We go by all the other planets until January except Venus which is the only Planet on one side of the Sun for a while then it goes by the others and catches us next year in March with a very very similar alignment to the one that caused the solar flare for the Tonga event. March 21st 2025 multiple planetary alignments. Takes ten seconds to look that up on SimSolar. You can go back and look at the Tonga alignment/flare takes ten seconds type in the date click go. Hoop there it is.
3am, was out watching the sky, lots of satellites going by. I wave and say hi, they can see what brand socks I’m wearing. US Navy nuke sub base across the bay this area always on live sats somewhere. Many other bases 180 degrees for a hundred miles all one big US military base. Missile launch base 40 miles North. Key target. This ain’t no disco. This ain’t no party. Click off Street View thar she blows. In the hot zone. https://www.google.com/maps/@48.0326489,-122.729354,3a,75y,13.3h,92.75t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sc_z3QzzL4SrULsY8fMPJkw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656?coh=205409&entry=ttu
Can you believe it, there are people in this country still enjoying life, going about their normal business, going to work, pursuing hobbies, taking vacations. And then there are fools like us, glued to the Internet, wallowing in all the bad news we can scrape up, whether it’s true or not, whether it will ever come to pass or not. I am definitely losing interest in this lifestyle.
Folks, maybe it’s time to forget the climate and just observe the weather — by getting out in it and doing something.
Are you able to enjoy your life at all? You spend your night looking for alignments that will pressage major disasters, or waving to spy satellites that watch your every move.
For Pete’s sake, find yourself a woman, and spend your nights doing the tango!
Sun is scorching hot at 8am Saturday. I stay out of the Sun as much as possible because I probably already have skin cancer. I used to work outside and play outside, used to go waterskiing and fishing all Summer. I lived in Hawaii and went swimming every day, surfing, body surfing. We used to hike up and ski Mt Baker all Summer on the glaciers and waterski in the evenings.
Now I stay inside and hide from the Sun during these continous record hot/dry Summers and read about how record cold it is. Can’t go out on the boat in this burning sun it would fry me to a crisp. I read fiction books in the shade last twelve years Sun is too hot since SC24 started. Day seventeen warmer than ave here no rain hot today if we weren’t by the salt water it would be 105f like Eastern Washington. More solar flares forecast all Summer not inching towards solar minimum. I’d rather it be solar min and La Nina rain all Summer trust me. I hate this hot weather.
I’m having a problem with cognitive dissonance. You are so believable and also so unbelievable. I wonder if Tums would help. I can almost feel my brain cells splitting in two. I’m looking around for a big rabbit in a waistcoat to run by, checking his pocket watch. How in the world did I get here? Did I fall in a rabbit hole 🐰 🕳️ somewhere along the way? The more I work to put my real life back together, the more bizarre this alternative news world seems. Or is it an alternate dimension?
Snow in Oz just reminded me of my first snow here six years ago when I bought this dump. It was so pretty then a big fricking rat comes running over from next door where the neighbor burns his foodbank leftovers with other garbage bags in a nice smoldering smokey big pile with rats hopping around. I was out throwing oyster shells in the snow at the rat in my slippers, what a special moment. Well that guy went to prison for beating up his Dad who just burned his house down and killed his wife all a freak accident. The Dad croaked four years ago now I finally gots new redneck neighbors. Guy to the North croaked three years ago all his stuff is still in the house truck in the driveway. Lots of those here in the hood nobody been there in twenty years all over grown. 40 miles from nowhere in either direction.
Warmest week of the year next week. I thought you, Dirk, would be out in the bay by now, floating on your back, smashing open the clams collected on your stomach with a rock, and slurping them down.
Teaching those baby sea otters the fundamental survival tactics.
The purple blotch is not getting any worse. I sprayed it with colloidal silver right off the bat. It doesn’t feel uncomfortable anymore. Good, because I am too tipsy to drive myself to the ER! The spiders are really bad here right now. They’re all over the place.
Now, Dirk, I’m going to set you a good example of someone who chooses to live in the moment and enjoy life. If you go to artistforum.com and look for me under the name Deblee, I have just started posting my artwork there. I find this group of artists to be very encouraging and stimulating, so I am beginning to express myself artistically once again. It’s been awhile. I’m very happy to do it. It’s part of my plan to rebuild my matrix in a more positive, reality -centered way. Perhaps it will help you to rebuild your own matrix. Think –what do you really want in your life?
Then the Chum salmon return October limit four fishing good till late November. We fish the beach in front of the hatchery, no boat. Tide always different everyday. All about the tides.
If you’re not AI, and even you are, you’re one hell of a creative writer. I would have more to say, but I think I may have gotten bit by a bad spider and have to go to the ER. I have to set up my ozone generator that came in the mail today and see if it helps. In the meantime I’m trying to celebrate a special day by having a gin and 7UP. It’s always something. Gotta go.
I just put this here for those who confuse cold with snow… or figured there snow.
Oddly many have short memories… and forget similar happened last year.
The seasons , are shifting. EG we want to see snow in winter, and we will just not on the months we normally see. There is a longer lead in, and a shorter lead out of the seasons.
That said… here in QLD we have 7 seasons, event the natives believe we have 7 seasons.
Typhoon forecast got downgraded it changes course N of Taiwan heads inland along the coast of China with heavy rain then heads to Korea next weekend with heavy rain.
No Full Moon big solar flares, Mercury opposite Jupiter on July 23rd so there is still elevated potential for solar flares. Electrical connection. Electroverse. Not out of the woods yet we’re still in the woods. https://gong.nso.edu/data/magmap/QR/bqG/202407/mrbqG240721/mrbqG240721t1614c2286_012.gif
SC25’s highest sunspot value the other day didn’t raise electrons they’re in a lull. One active sunspot could increase electrons more than the eighteen
spots there just were and coronal holes can increase it more with no sunspots. More to it than just the sunspot count. https://www.solen.info/solar/images/electronfluence.png
Still in the woods, eh,? Well, I know I certainly am.
My daughter came by today and we drove to a cafe on the waterfront and had lunch. Nice to get to spend some time with her, and the weather is behaving itself. Will wonders never cease?
I decided to drop forty years and take up kite surfing on the Columbia River gorge and scale Mt Hood and ski it from the top. Do some surfing on Astoria and scuba diving in Newport.. Be 29 again why didn’t I think of that before just wave the magic wand and get this party started. Buy a jet ski and a dirt bike and put a ski on the front and a track on the back so it goes on snow. You seen those? https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=ski+and+track+for+dirt+bike+on+snow&qpvt=ski+and+track+for+dirt+bike+on+snow&form=IGRE&first=1
100F in E China all week where a billion people live. Severe air pollution, no air to breath. 105F in N central China, 100F Mongolia. Extreme fire danger in that area.
Anybody there would prefer to be in the mountains of Oz where the air is fresh and clean water to drink. The heat is worse S Eurasia and Africa way over 100F. 118F in Iraq, hot as hell in that area for months from solar flares from a stronger than predicted solar cycle. 112F this week in Spain!!! 104F in Portugal. 3am ‘ere all the doors and windows open fans on cooling down the house. 82F last eve at 7pm. In Winter I’m up at night babysitting my woodstove keeping the house warm. I split and stacked four cords of firewood since March when it was still frosty out it’s all dried to perfection waiting for me to move it all inside for the Winter. If it snows ten feet I’m all set. No snow here last year, no snowpack now less than zero percent of normal Statewide Emergency. Extreme fire danger up into Canada, eh? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-FMFhMmFqE

You are exaggerating the facts !
I lived in the mountains in ’75 it snowed 48 feet that winter I had to find my car with a ski pole and dig it out to drive to work the snowplows would bury it. I worked at a ski area we built a chairlift and rebuilt the other two lifts. The car was a ’63 Volvo 544 turtleback never got stuck drove every mountain around looking for the deepest snow to shred. It might snow two feet in Oz hardly big news one week at Stevens Pass it snowed 27 feet, that was fun when they opened the road and got the power on to run the ski lifts. Oz snow forecast on Windy.com ten inches over the next ten days. Maximum snow depth in Oz on July 29th forecast one foot deep. Not enough to ski on or get excited about or even talk about.

Also notice the massive, multiple-foot snowfalls at places like Molong (600 m altitude)- snowfalls which would be hard-pressed to occur even in the alps today.
https://historyparkes.org/2017/06/16/snow-in-parkes-shire/
As you can see snowfalls were very frequent in Parkes (340 m altitude), compared to today.
In 1905 it even snowed in OCTOBER in Parkes (late spring!)
And please stop with this “polar blast” nonsense… May 2000 had more severe cold than ANY month in the last 24 years. Abd May 2000 was still milder than July 1995, July 1866,Jun to Aug 1943, Jun 1908, July 1901, 1900…. it’s not even close.

Heavy dust from Africa going across Atlantic to Florida. I saw it on Weather Nation this morning. Uniparty Surveillance State. Both sides ran by the same control freaks. They record everything everywhere and make profiles.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyTr3_mhGPI

Dirk –
Never have been a sleeper always up at night that’s how I know all this stuff I started with one pic of a solar flare wanted to learn more and more. I have pics of all the solar flares I could save since 2011 I took Science in college three years double time B ave more data give me more data. Marine Bio. Oceanography. Botany. Technical writing got a B on a manual typewriter.

They aren’t the same you only have to look at the climate change freaks to understand there are at least two factions.
Meanwhile it looks like Greenland is losing a bit of topweight.
Paris Olympics start next Friday. Seems like they plan other big things to time with the Olympics for maximum drama.

Moffin-
I hope you realize what a bad influence he is having on you! You’re almost as silly as he is!
Love,
Deb
I did go out and get clams today looked for rock crabs in the tidepools.
Coho salmon season one month away opens on Aug 16th limit four per day. I will be out there most every day and freeze the filets for Winter. Fish on the river not on the boat. At low tide walk out on the tide flats a mile where the fish head in the channel.

Then the Chum salmon return October limit four fishing good till late November. We fish the beach in front of the hatchery, no boat. Tide always different everyday. All about the tides.
Dirk-
If you’re not AI, and even you are, you’re one hell of a creative writer.

Mating season, hunting season. and food seasoning are often best removed from the dry season, monsoon season, spring and summer etc.
All your seven seasons there are predicted by the BoM to be hotter than normal.

No Full Moon big solar flares, Mercury opposite Jupiter on July 23rd so there is still elevated potential for solar flares. Electrical connection. Electroverse. Not out of the woods yet we’re still in the woods.

SC25’s highest sunspot value the other day didn’t raise electrons they’re in a lull. One active sunspot could increase electrons more than the eighteen
spots there just were and coronal holes can increase it more with no sunspots. More to it than just the sunspot count.

Dat’s entertainment.
Crop burning searing heat from solar flares from a stronger than predicted solar cycle.

Another mild day in Missouri, by the grace of God.
